I have been interested in the nature of reality and existence for as long as I can remember, and at the age of 12 I vowed to dedicate my life to searching for this truth. Accordingly, I pursued the standard path for learning truth in the western world—formal education. I decided that the sciences would provide me with the necessary tools to investigate our reality, eventually settling on Biology and Psychology, so as to study both the body and the mind. In 2002 I obtained my Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto with a double major in Psychology and Biology. Currently, I am completing the last year of my PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
Throughout the early stages of my university education, I learned that science alone would not provide me with the answers I sought. I continued to be deeply interested in spirituality, whilst separating the two subjects in my mind for many years. The current science was heavily based in materialism and did not explain, nor attempt to explain phenomenon that I was witness to, such as psychic abilities. It became apparent in 2007 during an insightful moment that my life purpose was in the bridging science and spirituality. As a result, following the attainment of my PhD I will be empirically investigating energy healing, shamanism, intuitive abilities, meditation, and consciousness.
This path has led me to energy healing and spiritual counselling, by using both my formal education and personal spiritual experiences. I obtained my certification in Usui Reiki Level 1 in February of 2010 and Level 2 in June of 2010. I will soon be certified in Level 3 (August 2011) and will be pursuing Reiki Master training following Level 3. Through combining energy healing, intuition, psychology, and the science of the mind/body interaction, my main purpose is not only to heal and counsel clients, but to also empower them to heal themselves.
